Pages for Pediatrics — Brand identity, art direction, and illustration for a nonprofit that makes children’s books about pediatric illnesses and disabilities.

Pages for Pediatrics (PFP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that writes, illustrates, and donates children’s storybooks on pediatric illnesses and disabilities. PFP’s mission is to help alleviate patient anxiety by advocating for disability representation and combatting stigma toward pediatric health conditions.

I currently serve as a Board Director and Creative Director at PFP. In my role, I oversee the book illustrations and designs, brand identity, and creative direction. This project showcases the overall brand case study, which includes the wordmark creation process and brand applications.

Illustrations created by myself and various students at affiliate universities from 2021 to today.

Giving the logo a modern refresh.

I designed the first logo for PFP in 2021. After the nonprofit expanded to student affiliates at multiple universities, it was time for a logo refresh.

Previously, the logo felt imbalanced and dated. Keeping the same image of a doctor sitting on an open book, I updated the logo to feel more simple, modern, and scalable.

Building a friendly and versatile brand.

Hospital stays can be daunting, so it’s important to build a trustworthy brand that pediatric patients can feel comfortable and empowered by. My goal is to design a brand system that is bright, trustworthy, welcoming, and versatile for all of our affiliates to use.
