California Creators for Nature — Brand identity for a program of Bay Area creators building a movement for nature

California Creators for Nature is a program at the California Academy of Sciences that brings together five digital creators and influencers from across California to build a movement for nature. This program supports the Academy's Thriving California Initiative to help young adults and kids connect with nature. As a designer within the creative team at the California Academy of Sciences, I designed this wordmark and brand identity for creators in the program to use in social content related to the program.

Inspired by the California poppy

The logomark is inspired by the California Poppy, California’s official state flower. I designed the flower based on how it physically looks, while also being inspired by sunrays. The sunray design emerges from the center of the flower to represent how the program’s creators are emerging environmental activists.
