California Creators for Nature — Wordmark design for a program of Bay Area creators building a movement for nature.

California Creators for Nature is a program at the California Academy of Sciences that brings together five digital creators and influencers from across California to build a movement for nature. This program supports the Academy's Thriving California Initiative to help Californians connect with nature.

As a designer within the creative team at the California Academy of Sciences, I designed this wordmark for creators in the program to use in social content related to the program.

Project was completed in March 2024. Creative direction by Rhonda Rubinstein. Creator headshots courtesy of the 2024 California Creators for Nature.

Inspired by the California poppy.

The main mark for the wordmark is inspired by the California Poppy, California’s official state flower. I designed the middle part of the flower based on how it physically looks, while also being inspired by a sun ray. The sun ray design emerges from the middle of the flower to also represent how the creators in the program are emerging environmental activists.
